Wet and Wild July

Let's start with July 4th. This was our wild July. Hot. Humid. No swimming. Just a good ol' game of washers in the backyard. Sweat pouring down our backs. I think I changed my outfit twice.
As the norm, we did our family fireworks that night with Uncle Jer. (trying to soak up all the Uncle Jer time we can get before he leave for CA and our lives change forever).

As we were starting the fireworks show, Brett was in the road setting up, and Uncle Jer decided to throw a few lit sparkles high into the air. Me and Jer were staring in the sky in awe at how high the sparklers got...meanwhile...
"Look!. Daddy!"
"Brett! Watch out!" Yells I , as the falling sparklers land directly on Brett., or more specially on his eyes and his favorite shirt leaving a nice singe mark. (Dont' worry, I got the singe mark out) After we determine he is alright, Jer and I can barely breathe as we laugh at how stupid we looked staring in the sky at the sparkly shiny things as Brett is about to be burned!

Children sweetly enjoying the festivities from a safe distance.

Sheer terror at the sparklers.

Once Uncle Jer told them they could throw the sparklers in the air they had no fear and grabbed the sparklers and commenced throwing them in the air. Lesson learned?

Skip to July 9th. We had our 8 year anniversary. But now that Brett kept saying 9, I can't stop thinking 9 either! Wonder what we will do for our big 10 year next year ;)
We went to a water park for our anniversary and had a good time. This was our wet July.

The night before we hit up my cousin's reception. This was our wild July. A great excuse to get all gussied up.
My hot date.

Early surprise flowers. Seriously, a surprise! I never get flowers.

My Grandmother's attempts at taking phone pictures at my cousin's reception.

Attempt #2

Attempt 3#

I fired Grandma and hired my sister.

Skip to July 15th. Family Beach day. This is wet July.
Jer, Julie, Jonathan, Alexis, and my family stayed at a hotel over night and waited for the rest of my family to join us on Sunday. We had a blast walking on the beach at night (had glow sticks that didn't' glow for our kids on the beach...boo)
We spent some good time on the boardwalk and took the kids on their first Ferris wheel ride. The kids loved it. Me? I was terrified of how high it was with my little loves on board! Later we went back to our hotel room, which connected to my siblings room, and spent the night playing cards and cracking some Kauffman jokes and maybe having a drink or two (or just one). Brett and I put the kids to sleep, which took like 1/2 hour, then snuck out to my siblings room to play. It is a wonder they didn't wake up with all the insanely loud laughing and yelling coming through the door crack. I should put on my blog to forever remember Julie teaching us all how our butt holes are made up of the same tissue that our lips are. Can you guess how many jokes that ensued? Guess.

Sadie  livin it up on the boardwalk. I had my first Manco and Manco pizza that night. What a memory!  We had some froyo too. All of this assuming our walk along the beach burned it all off. You know, that 15 minute walk back. Yup.

Bryer first seeing the ocean when we got there. He loved it!  Insert sarcasm here.  It was like we were torturing him. He wouldn't even walk near it. He had to walk up on the soft sand away from any wet sand.
"Look Mom. Are you happy? I'm standing here. "

Sadie couldn't get enough of the beach. Brett in midst of trying to coax Bryer into the ocean.

Sadie's happy dance.

Cousin's lovin it. Uncle Daniel buried the girls. The entire day we were on the beach I rarely talked to Sadie. She was too busy digging, playing, running, meeting new friends and getting tan.

We all did get slightly to mildly burnt that day. Or... very burnt- I need a fan on my back at all times or I am in extreme pain....Brett. Bryer got a bad rash or burn on his inner thighs from his water diaper or the mesh lining on his suit? Anyone? Anyone?

More wet July. Wakeboarding and boating. Every chance we get. The boys are getting good...most of the time. I tried my first attempts at getting up on a wake board. I figure if my little cousin Vicky (who is like 16) can do  it, then I can sure as heck try. No matter how scared I am. No matter what body parts I injure or misconfigure. It's worth it. Just for the sheer pride and peer pressure.
To date: 8 tries...0 wins
Have yet to get up.

Great times for the Fisher in July so far!! The beach pictures are making me want to go back to NC! I wish we had cool sparklers and fireworks on July 4th. That was one hot miserable day! Looking forward to our boat adventure in less than 2 weeks with you all :)
