Tangled up in Cars

Our neighbors had a lantern release party to celebrate two of their kids b-days this past weekend. It was awesome! Despite the 20 degree weather, layer of long john's, gloves, hats, etc...we still froze our butts off. And then they did a second release...
It was Tangled up in Cars. A great name I thought anyway. Tangled for her daughter's b-day and Cars for her sons. There were about 30 people there (postponed from the previous windy night when 60 would have shown up!).
There lanterns are not what I was expecting. I though they were little round balls of tissue paper things we let lift off. Nope. They were about two feet tall mini hot air balloons! For $3 each, they were well worth the price.
When you release them you are suppose to make a wish or send it up to someone who has passed away. I let Sadie make a wish. What was it you ask?

"I wish we could go inside and get some cake!"

Not Sadie.
About to let go. On the first round I didn't wait...I let mine go first, like way before everyone else. I have listening issues. Ask Brett. Second time, I got it right.
There is fire burning right by your hands, it's kinda scary holding on to these things.
And here they go.
Overhead view.
And away they go.
It was seriously neat. So glad we made it.
So not glad they had a second release!

Looks really cool! So I guess the lanterns just become trash somewhere though? That's the only negative I guess. Looking forward to seeing you next week already!
