Corolla

Overall North Carolina was a great great time. We had good weather and it was relaxing and fun. We shared a huge house with the Harmon's and their boys, the Pledger's and Justin, and of course our family. Never been on a vacation with kids before....not sure when we will do that again :) Always crying or whining (mostly from Sadie) or screaming all the time. So that part wasn't very relaxing...but it was fun to travel with friends and vacation together.

We rented a Jeep and drove on the beach to see wild horses. That was awesome. Jon drove, and practically tore off the side of Jeep as he drove through a bush. By the way, you get charged if you scratch the Jeep. But it was nothing a little spit and rubbing couldn't hide :)
We did drive through the town "Deliverance" as in the movie.....where mannequin heads hung from wires and then were staked in the ground in this picture! There were private property signs around as well as Beware of Dog signs....not a good sign for us.

Sadie sitting on the steps...of which she had many time outs on.

Sadie being forced to spend time on the beach.

Brett giving me a great Baywatch shot!

Sadie's very first steps on the beach....which she hated. She hated the ocean even more. Brett held her once in the ocean while she clung to him asking to go back to the house. For the rest of the week though, all she talked about was "Daddy...in the ocean....Daddy in the ocean." But she didn't want to go back.
NC beaches are beautiful and I will never go back to our nasty NJ beaches. I feel dirty just thinking about them. I'll take the 8 hour drive for a nice shore. By the way, Sadie was fantastic for the drive to NC. She sang, colored, watched Blues Clues, and napped the whole way down. She is a terrific traveler. Brett and I got more cranky on the way down then Sadie did. We are not such great travelers :)
