Three hours of sitting in a chair. Three hours of staring at a screen while my knees ache and burn, I stuff my face with too many useless calories, I freeze my buns off....this is suppose to be fun. Going to the movie theater.
In spite of sounding repetitive of what a horrible time Brett and I have every time we leave the house....here is yet another example.
Harry Potter. The new movie that just came out with such high expectations. Brett and I were excited to see, more so Brett then me...We get to the theater nice and early for once to get a good seat. Got the good seat. Sat there for about thirty minutes before the movie started. One family in front of us and one behind with excited kids waiting to see the movie. The theater was not even that crowded which was nice. So how do we always get stuck by the wrong people?
As soon as the movie starts...she starts. Every thirty minutes Brett and I get this wonder whiff of a disgusting odor that passed from one's body through their anus. Mind you, this is a three hour movie. We discovered it must be coming from the lady behind us. Brett would smell it first followed by me, and the woman was behind Brett. Of course I had to ask Brett to make sure it wasn't him. It wasn't. (or so he said) This lady must have eaten something terrible. I mean three hours of gas???? Come on, who does that? And her poor kids! Enduring it with us the whole time.
I have to admit, I couldn't stop laughing when we left the theater. It was just ridiculous.
This is exactly why we have our own little theater at home. We never have to worry about running late to the movie, it starts when we want it to start. We never have to worry about getting a bad seat, we always have the best seat in the house. We never have to worry about hearing people talk all through the movie ruining it, we are the ones talking and ruining it. We never have to smell strangers passing gas for three hours, if anyone passes gas, we know exactly whose it is.
But it wasn't all a bad time, it was a memory we won't forget anytime soon, and Brett and I still had a great time with each other. We decided to end the day going on a short hike with Sadie at some trails near our home. That was fun. Nature smells so much better!!

On a side note...we just passed our five year anniversary, and we had a Good time! We went out for a nice dinner, and actually had a nice dinner. Here is a lovely pic to remember how good we looked after five years of marriage.

What a shame about the movie! At least it makes me feel better that it's been so long since Jon and I have been to the theater---we're certainly not missing much. We love your home theater and of coarse your loaded candy stash. We'll have to set up some more visiting times again soon! And yes, you both look GREAT after 5 years of marriage and 1 kid later : )
