(6 months old, exactly one year ago)

I realize how fast the years are flying by now that I have a child. This past year Brett and I watched Sadie learn to eat food, crawl, walk, talk, turn the big 1, and develop her goofy lovable personality. And of course, see how beautiful she has become as she looks more and more like me ;) Two memories from this past year I love of Sadie....
1. I was holding her in Disney World and Sadie says "uh oh" and looks down ( which she does when she throws things on the ground, but she hadn't thrown anything) so I look down and saw nothing. Then I smell it. She went number 2 in her diaper...she must have felt it fall from her hiney into her diaper and thought it fell on the floor, so she said "uh oh"!
2. One minute before we arrived at Brett's grandparents house to help his grandfather out of the car Sadie fell asleep. When Brett opened his door to get out Sadie woke up and yelled out, Hello! But it sounded like "hewl-woah" in little kid talk. Then her dropped back down and she was out again. She had one moment of awake time to let us know she was there and then conked out again. It was really funny.
Our friends Nancy and Jon had a baby, Justin on Nov 25th. Kari got married in Feb and Becca eloped in Dec. Courtney also got married this year in Oct and got knocked up as well soon after. From now on every year will be baby announcement after baby announcement I am sure.
Brett' s mom also beat breast cancer this year and is now cancer free. We had a survivor party for her with all the family there and pink everything!
We also have had sad news this year, we had to give away our cats due to their peeing all over our dining room rug and dislike of Sadie. Hopefully they found a great new home. Also, my Gramps was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer. Not too much I want to say about that, except I love him very much and Grandma too.
Brett and I took Sadie to Disney World and had a blast! It was our first vacation as a family and I have to say it was a great one, but I have no desire to go back there for a long long time. I am excited to see how our family grows and changes in 2009 ...and our friends too. We are planning on going to Ca in a week to visit Bradd's family, driving to NC in May to spend a week at the beach with friends, and continue to work on our house and yard this year. I am sure 2009 will go by quickly, but I know it will be full of great memories.
