Here is our little girl! Well, not so little...Her birth story...
Brett and I went to my doc appt on Thursday Aug 9th for my regular prenatal checkup and my blood pressure was high. I had a prefect pregnancy up until then, but they made me go over to triage to be monitored and tested and check for toxemia. When they did an ultrasound Sadie looked like she was 9lbs 9oz, they didn't want her getting any bigger, and my blood pressure was still high, so they decided to induce me that night. So they induced me around 7pm and around 7am I started having painful contractions and said, ok I am ready for the epi :) My water broke on its own while I was getting the epidural and all over poor Brett's leg and sock. After that, I felt great and was fully dilated around 4pm but didn't start pushing till 5pm when I had the urge. I pushed my brains out for 3 hours!!! But since the little stinker was so big it took awhile to get her out. Finally she came screaming into the world at 8:06pm to a mom and dad who couldn't contain their emotions and were bawling (especially her daddy). It was the best experience of our lives! We love her so much and it is so great being home with her and being a "family".
We can't tell exactly who she looks like yet, and she will change, but for now I think she looks like the Kauffman side. I am shocked that she came out with such dark hair, neither Brett or I had dark hair at birth. I expected her to be bald and fat like I was :)
She was born at 9lbs 2oz and 21 1/2 inches long. Her head was 14 1/2 inches! Try squeezing that out. She pooped all over me and the floor and peed on everything too right after she was born. So she probably weighed even more. She has been so good since we have been home and I feel better and better each day. Her name we just ramdomly picked because we liked it, and I just found out that it was my great-great-grandmother's name that I never met. So now it is really special to us that we named her that.
Thanks to everyone for all your help and prayers!
