Turns out my family isn't all that German like I always thought growing up. My Dad's side is part "shunned" Amish from Switzerland!!! There's a long story behind it, but all that really matters is the shunned Amish part :) I think this picture of my Dad proves it. Ja, it's true.

No kidding!!! What is life without a good banishment from some sort of community!?!?! I am sure each of us in the U.S., at some point in our family past, has been shunned by something/one. Or else we probably wouldn't be in the U.S.!!! ---Jon P.
